The Grand County Historical Museum has a total of three sites in three historical buildings. The historical association was created in 1974 and strives to preserve Colorado history, artifacts, and the historical sites of the Hot Sulphur Springs School, the Cozens Ranch and Stage Stop, and the Heritage Park Museum.
The Pioneer Village Complex features the Hot Sulphur Springs School which was built in 1924. Exhibits within the school feature early tools, 8,500 year old artifacts, a Pioneer Woman's exhibit, and a historical glance at the beginning of the ski industry. Follow time from early development and check out a number of historical buildings like the 19th century courthouse and jail. The school is located on US Highway 40 in Hot Sulphur Springs. It is open in winter months from 10am to 4pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays. In the summer it is open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday and 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
The Cozens Ranch and Stage Stop Museum is located at the first ranch and stage stop in the valley, built in 1876. Check out original photographs of the family, antique decorations and furniture. At one point the ranch encompassed about 700 acres. The ranch is located between Winter Park and Fraser on US 40.
Tour a two-story log homestead, built in 1885, known as the Fitch Homestead. The Wolford Mountain Reservoir threatened the preservation of this homestead. It was donated to the Grand County Historical Association and moved in 1994 onto property near the Livery and Feed building in Kremmling.
