Explore Peak to Peak Byway, Colorado's oldest and possibly most beautiful scenic byway. Established in 1918, the Peak to Peak Byway runs 55 miles along Colorado's high lands, within towering peaks, pristine lakes, and through historic ghost towns. Experience the combination of history, beauty, and many outdoor adventures.
Peak to Peak Byway is easily accessible from Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. Cradling the eastern Front Range, the byway is used by many to access trailheads, camping spots, lakes, and ghost towns. It also runs along Rocky Mountain National Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Eldora Ski Area, and Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Chances are any place you pull of the road you will find trails, wildlife, and adventure.
This scenic route passes through many historical hot spots as well. Once an area rich in gold and silver, there are a handful of ghost towns that still exist today.
