Estes Park, Colorado is home to the Elk Fest, typically celebrated the first weekend in October. The elk in Estes Park are regaled, imitated, watched and otherwise honored during the community's annual Elk Fest. The festival offers a variety of activities held at Bond Park, located in downtown Estes Park.

Elk Fest is a remarkable event for those interested in viewing elk in the wild, as well as expanding their knowledge about elk, their habitats and how to observe them in nature. The festival coincides with the elk rut, providing the natural sight and sound spectacle created during the big game's mating season.

This two-day festival offers bugling competitions, archery contests, educational areas, seminars, music performances, guided elk viewing tours, and a variety of vendors. Art vendors range from oils and pastels, handmade elk-ivory jewelry, scrimshawed antler knives, elk antler lamps and chandeliers, elk hide pillows, and elk antlers. Food vendors offer their delicious elk cuisine. Elk Fest is a celebration not to be missed.
