July 4th is an event that draws a crowd to Grand Lake, Colorado and for good reason. The annual Grand Lake Fireworks Extravaganza is a daylong celebration. Independence Day is a time for old-fashioned festivities throughout the county, including pancake breakfasts, small-town rodeo action, fishing derbies, fireman's barbecue, Grand County-Granby's Fourth of July Parade and, of course, fireworks.

The Grand Lake Fireworks Extravaganza has put Grand Lake on the map for Colorado's most extraordinary fireworks display. The fireworks rise to 7,500 feet with embers reflecting off the lake and reverberations bouncing off the rocky crags of the surrounding mountains. Bring your blanket, find a comfortable spot, and gaze into the open sky for the glitter and sparkle 4th of July traditionally brings. It is truly an awesome show, one not to be missed!
