Services & Facilities

For the utmost convenience on your vacation to Rocky Mountain National Park, all the services you could desire are located in the park or just outside in the nearby communities.

When on vacation, it’s good to know where to go for your various needs and which of these you can find within the park.

Lodging
There is no lodging inside Rocky Mountain National Park. Lodging can be found in the communities outside the park - in Estes Park, Grand Lake, Granby and others.

Camping
Camping is allowed within Rocky Mountain National Park at any of the five designated campgrounds or with the use of a backcountry/wilderness permit for backcountry camping.

Laundry & Showers
There are no laundry or shower facilities within the park, but you’ll find a laundry and showers in downtown Estes Park (the east entrance), and a laundry in Grand Lake (the west entrance).

Food
Some limited snacks can be purchased at several of the Visitor Centers, but there are no real dining establishments within the park. You’ll find burgers, sandwiches and soups at the Alpine Visitor Center (May to mid-October). Outside of the Fall River Entrance Station, you will find a restaurant where you can get a meal. This is located next to the Fall River Visitor Center. For groceries, it is best to stock up prior to entering the park.

Service Station
There are no service stations within the park so be sure to fill up at a service station in one of the surrounding communities.

Transportation
For free shuttle transportation within Rocky Mountain National Park, you can take the Bear Lake or Moraine Park Shuttle. Both take you to trailheads, visitor centers and campgrounds. There is also a free hiker shuttle, an express ride from Estes Park to Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and the Park & Ride in the park.

Book and Souvenir Sales
You can buy books, gifts and souvenirs at all of the visitor centers in the park.

ATM
Although there are no automated teller machines within park boundaries, you’ll find them in surrounding communities at banks and grocery stores.

Post Office
The nearest post offices to Rocky Mountain National Park are in Estes Park, Colorado on the eastern edge of the park, and in Grand Lake, Colorado on the western edge of the park. You can drop off mail at the mail drops at Kawuneeche and Beaver Meadows Visitor Centers.

Medical Services
The closest medical service on the east side of Rocky Mountain Park is the Estes Park Medical Center (555 Prospect Avenue, Estes Park, Colorado). On the west side of the park, you would go 14 miles from the entrance of the park to Granby Medical Center (480 East Agate Avenue, Granby, Colorado). Both have 24-hour emergency care. In an emergency, you can dial 911 or park headquarters at 970-586-1203. There are Emergency Call Boxes at Longs Peak, Hidden Valley and Wild Basin Ranger Stations, Lawn Lake and Cow Creek Trailheads and at the Bear Lake Parking Lot.

Kennels
Although you won’t find pet services within the park, there are a number of daycare services for your pet in Estes Park.

Child Daycare
You’ll find licensed child daycare services in Estes Park, for those times you want to take an excursion in Rocky Mountain National Park that is not suited for your young children.
