Free Shuttle Bus

To be able to see all the great sights and sounds of Rocky Mountain National Park you should consider taking advantage of their free shuttle bus system.

Everyone in your party can enjoy the Park and travel to many destinations and loop hikes by riding the free shuttle bus. You can enjoy the fantastic scenery without any distractions and without worrying about the hassle of the congestion of traffic or limited parking. The buses are environmentally friendly and the drivers are personable and informative. Be aware that the buses only run during the spring, summer and fall. They do not run in the winter.

Three separate shuttle bus routes provide service in and around Rocky Mountain National Park.  

     

  • Visitor Shuttle – Operated by the town of Estes Park and transports visitors around the town of Estes Park.
  • Bear Lake and Moraine Park Shuttle – Operates inside the Park and transports visitors to many of the trailheads as well as Moraine Park and Glacier Basin Campground.
  • Hiker Shuttle – Provides as express ride back and forth between the Visitor Center of Estes Park and Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and Park and Ride in the Park.

GENERAL INFORMATION   

     

  • The free shuttles buses provide transportation only on the weekends in the early spring and late fall. However, during the summer, the buses run every day of the week. In the winter, the buses do not operate. 
  • The busses run only during the day, but they do run every 15 to 30 minutes.
  • The Free Shuttle Bus schedules are subject to change. Each year the schedule for each of the three routes is posted on Rocky Mountain National Park’s website. You can check the site prior to coming to the Park, or you can pick up a copy of the current schedule upon your arrival.
