Amtrak Rocky Mountain Train

There is no air service, train service, or bus service directly to Rocky Mountain National Park, however Amtrak does provide service to Granby, Colorado. From Granby, the visitor can obtain a rental car for traveling the remaining distance to the park.

As is often quoted, it is not the destination but the journey that counts. However, if you travel to the Rocky Mountain National Park via Amtrak, it will be both the journey and the destination that makes this trip so memorable.

If you are traveling a long distance to get to this grand mountain region, then Amtrak may be an option for you. There is a station in Granby, which will get you close to the Park.

Amtrak does provide sleeping accommodation on most long-distance routes and have sleeping cars with bedrooms arranged in various configurations. Depending on the route of your travel via train and the type of train equipment in use on that route, it is possible that you will also have various seating options. There is always extra-spacious Coach Class seating with leg rest that can be used to enhance your comfort for long or overnight trips.

Railroad travel is still alive and well in part of the United States via Amtrak. It can be an exciting part of your trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.
