Although there is no air, bus or train service directly to Rocky Mountain National Park, Amtrak is an excellent way to travel and will get you to within a short distance of the park.
Destinations
The Amtrak Rocky Mountain train is actually named the California Zephyr, serving Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City and San Francisco, as well as all points in between. There is a station at Granby, Colorado, which will get you close to Rocky Mountain National Park. From Granby, the visitor can obtain a rental car in order to travel the remaining distance to the park and explore its wonders.

Rates
Of course, rates vary depending on the distance traveled. For example, from Denver to Granby, Colorado, the cost is $26, from Salt Lake City the fare is $63 and from Chicago the cost is $173.
If you will be visiting more than one destination in your travels, it’s a good idea to get a rail pass. A 15-day 8-segment pass for an adult is $389 and for a child $194.50. For a 12-segment 30-day pass it costs $579 for an adult and $289.50 for a child. You can also purchase a 45-day 18-segment rail pass.
Schedules
The Amtrak Rocky Mountain Train arrives in Granby, Colorado at 10:37 am daily if coming from the east (Chicago, Illinois; Lincoln, Nebraska, etc.) and at 3:52 pm daily if coming from the west (Sacramento, California; Salt Lake City, Utah, etc.).
