There are whole bevy of big game outfitting and guide services available here to suit whatever needs you have; the big game hunter, with both bow and rifle hunts; outfitting do-it-yourself non-guided big game hunts; or drop camps on private Colorado ranches.
Non-guided hunts are a fraction of the cost of a fully guided hunt if you consider the great advantages that are offered on private land versus public land. There's superb Colorado Elk hunting, mule deer hunting and antelope hunting by accepting only a limited number of big game hunters to the ranches each year. By controlling the amount of hunting pressure on private land, your chances increase of a successful elk, mule deer, or antelope hunt.
In past seasons, rifle hunters have enjoyed a success rate of over 50% on 4-point or better bull elk, over 90% success on buck mule deer, and 100% success on buck antelope.
None of this ought to be surprising, because Colorado is home to the largest elk population in the world, and some the hunting areas here are famous for its extraordinary elk, deer, and antelope hunting.
